Lake Rotoroa Tracks – easy (scale 1.7) $19 Ruth Henry 544 4141
Braeburn Track: Enjoy the bush along this short loop track which leads to a waterfall. 4km return. Porika Track: Also 4km but climbs 400m up the ridge via an old stock track then return via a service road with views of the lake. Topo M29.

Mt Mueller – Lewis Pass – medium (scale 2.8) $39

Cross the Maruia river a short way down from the hot springs hotel and climb 620m up a steepish unmaintained track to the Mueller tarn,1193m. Tramp from Flora Saddle to Balloon Hut, exploring Bishop cave & others along the way. From Hut walk up to Mt Peel, return same way. 15km to Balloon Hut.

Holyoake Clearing – medium (scale 2.9) $11

From Tinline Bay on the Abel Tasman coastal track a good track climbs about 600m over 3.3 km to the new shelter on Holyoake Clearing. It is a pleasant walk and lunch spot with some good views. Return to coastal track via ridge leading to The Anchorage. Total distance from Marahau and back 17km.
